Principal Housing was born out of the passion of the directors and the acknowledgement of the need for specialist supported housing, a safe space, and a nurturing environment that many young people in care and those leaving care may not have.

The directorate felt that although many of these young people may have experienced dysfunction, loss, disparity in childhood or in their formative years, the focus for Principal Housing is that there is still time for change and for new and positive experiences. Looked after children deserve the best experiences in life and our staffing team aim to make the transition into independent living, a stable period whereby each young person is provided with the opportunities to develop their skills and attributes whilst promoting and safeguarding their welfare. It is essential that we provide the support and guide each young person with their own tailored structured package to work towards them becoming independent young adults whom are able to accomplish and fulfil their aspirations.
